These terms and conditions govern the use of www.thegutbrainclinic.com.au. This website is is owned and operated by The Gut-Brain Clinic. By using or accessing this website, you indicate you have read and understood these terms and conditions and agree to abide by them at all times.

Scope of Services

The services provided by The Gut-Brain Clinic are intended solely for the purpose of assisting clients in managing gut symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), functional gut disorders, other mental health diagnoses and hormone-related gut disorders. These services may include but are not limited to the application of psychology, gut-directed hypnotherapy and dietetics. These services are delivered to help modulate gut function and alleviate symptoms but do not constitute medical treatment or diagnosis.

 

Client Eligibility 

Clients seeking services from The Gut-Brain Clinic must be adults aged 18 years or older, or accompanied by a parent or guardian. Clients must provide accurate and truthful information regarding their medical history, current symptoms and any pre-existing conditions. Clients must truthfully confirm that they have sought medical advice from their general practitioner and/or gastroenterologist prior to seeking support from The Gut-Brain Clinic and have received medical clearance by their medical practitioner to participate in services provided by the The Gut-Brain Clinic, including psychology services, gut-directed hypnotherapy and dietetic advice. Clients with a history of severe mental health disorders, psychosis or other contraindications to hypnotherapy may not be eligible for services and The Gut-Brain Clinic reserves the right to refuse treatment at any time.

 

Assessment and Consent to Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy

Prior to commencing gut hypnotherapy sessions at The Gut-Brain Clinic, clients are required to undergo an initial assessment conducted by a qualified hypnotherapist to evaluate their suitability for treatment. Clients must provide informed consent for participation in hypnotherapy sessions, acknowledging the nature of their services and potential benefits, risks and limitations. A client's failure to properly inform The Clinic of their relevant medical history may result in termination of sessions and the client may not receive financial reimbursement.

 

Confidentiality 

The Gut-Brain Clinic maintains strict confidentiality regarding all client information disclosed during sessions in accordance with applicable privacy laws in the state of Queensland, Australia. Client confidentiality is upheld unless legally required to disclose information or when there is a risk of harm to the client or others. 

 

Payment and Cancellation Policy

Clients are responsible for payment of fees associated with any services provided by The Gut-Brain Clinic, as outlined in the agreed-upon fee schedule. Payment is due prior to or at the time of each session, unless alternative arrangements have been made. Cancellations or rescheduling requests require two business days notice. Fees may apply for cancellations made within two business days prior to your appointment. 

 

Professional Boundaries

The Gut-Brain Clinic adheres to strict professional boundaries during all sessions, maintaining a therapeutic relationship based on mutual respect, trust and confidentiality. Any inappropriate behaviour or breach of professional boundaries by clients will result in termination of services and the client may not receive financial reimbursement.

 

Limitation of Liability 

While every effort is made to ensure the effectiveness and safety of services provided by The Gut-Brain Clinic, The Gut-Brain Clinic shall not be liable for any adverse effects or outcomes resulting from the client’s participation in sessions. Clients acknowledge that individual responses to treatments may vary and outcomes cannot be guaranteed. 

 

The Gut-Brain Clinic employees, directors and affiliates will not be liable for any actions, claims, losses, damages, liabilities or expenses including legal fees that may arise out of use of the services of The Gut-Brain Clinic, this website or violation of the terms and conditions.

 

Intellectual Property

All content published on this website (other than the logos, masthead, title or names of other business/publications) are the property of The Gut-Brain Clinic. Use of any content from this website must be authorised by The Gut-Brain Clinic's owners and operators with their written permission. This includes images, text, logo and any additional files and content.

Changes

These terms and conditions may be changed without notice to maintain compliance with the relevant laws and updated operating patterns of The Gut-Brain Clinic. We reserve the right to update or revise these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. We encourage you to review these Terms and Conditions periodically for updates. Any terms and conditions not amended at such time shall still be considered valid.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes arising from the provision of services provided by The Gut-Brain Clinic shall be resolved through negotiation and, if necessary, through the appropriate legal channels in Queensland. By engaging in services provided by The Gut-Brain Clinic, clients acknowledge their understanding and acceptance of these terms and conditions and agree to abide by the guidelines outlined herein.
